FFA Qualifies for State
Eighteen, Elba FFA students competed at District Livestock Judging on March 6, 2018. Fifteen of these students came home with ribbons. The students have been preparing over the last several weeks and traveled to Loup City on Wednesday, February 28 for a practice contest. Today students were divided into three categories, Junior High, Juniors, and Seniors. During the competition they; the students placed different classes of livestock, took a content test, and answered questions over the classes. Then gave a set of oral reasons on one or more of their classes. Those competing at District FFA Contest today were Junior High Division; Jayden Nuss, Angel McKoski, Tanner Lewis, and Kaden Johnson. Junior Division; Allene Randolph, Lupe West, Hunter Snyder, Cash Wolinski, Joey Wysocki, Kolby Graves, MacKenzie McKoski, and Maartje Buijs. Senior Division; Kristine Dvoracek, Alec Acosta, Wauneta Fletcher, Kenna Graves, Kiaya Radke, and Gage Oeltjen. Joey Wysocki placed fifth overall in the Junior Division and Kenna Graves placed eithth overall in the Senior Division. Their overall team scores were, Junior Division placing third, qualifying them for State Competition and the Senior Division placing fifth. They will be traveling to St. Paul Livestock Judging Competition on March 27 as a practice contest for State. Those that will be participating in the State Competition are MacKenzie McKoski, Lupe West, Joey Wysocki, and Maartje Buijs. They will travel to Lincoln on April 4-6 and compete in state competition.
